Job summary

ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton in Milton, ON is seeking a compassionate Senior Companion to join our growing team. Provide companionship and in-home support to seniors, assist with daily living activities, accompany to appointments, and monitor well-being for timely reporting to the care team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a caregiving, companion care, or personal support role is an asset.
• Genuine passion for working with seniors and elderly individuals.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a professional attitude.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle considered an asset.
• Ability to pass the DEARS assessment.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors in their homes, fostering trust and positive relationships.
• Assist clients with daily living activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands.
• Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities.
• Monitor and report changes in client health, mood, or behavior to the care team.
• Engage clients in meaningful conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
• Provide respite support to family caregivers as needed.
• Maintain accurate client care records and documentation in accordance with company standards.
