Job summary

Wealthsimple is Canada’s leading financial innovator with a growing card program and in-house infrastructure. We’re seeking a Senior Software Developer to own end-to-end backend work across the card stack, from issuance to dispute handling, with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

You will collaborate closely with product, design, and peers to shape architecture, balance speed and quality, and drive scalable solutions for millions of Canadians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building backend systems in payments or financial services.
• Strong backend fundamentals and scalability mindset.
• AI-first development workflow experience.

Responsibilities

• Shape and own greenfield work in card infrastructure, from design to deployment.
• Own end-to-end projects across the card stack including issuance, authorization, processing and lifecycle management.
• Build reliable backend systems with emphasis on performance and correctness.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to align goals and deliver outcomes.
