Job summary

Activo Inc. is hiring a Senior Cabling Technician for our Montreal, Quebec office.

The role focuses on installing, terminating, and testing Cat 5E/6/6A copper systems and MM/SM fibre optic cabling, with duties including rack installations, network hardware placement, and coordinating with Foremen on site. The candidate will work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, require bilingual communication, and be prepared to travel to various job sites across Quebec.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of proven experience installing, terminating, and testing copper and fibre optic cabling.
• Ability to travel and stay out of town within the province of Quebec.
• Fluency in French and English for customer interaction and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with company support staff and the National Customer Support Centre for any Service and/or MAC requests.
• Receive of all company purchased materials, hardware, etc., related to your assigned tickets, and enter all quantities received in tickets for receiving materials.
• Accept accountability for the financial performance (budget hours, materials, etc.) of the work you are assigned.
• Ensure to update all tickets for work completed through the Company-owned Smartphone device.
• Ensure that you provide and upload into the system all final documents, updates and information required by the customers for any Service, MAC or support requests.
• At all times, maintain a positive relationship with the customer representative and all company staff.
• Ensure all company-owned tools, test or termination equipment provided are kept in good working order
• Adherence to all HR policies, procedures, and health & safety practices, including the Company Employee Drivers Safety policy.
• Complete all work in a safe manner, with the highest quality standards, while adhering to the technical design of the work as provided by the customer.
