Job summary
KWESST is seeking a Senior Software Specialist to design, implement, and manage DND Command & Control applications in a client/server environment. The role focuses on reliability, scalability, and integration across the Software Engineering Facility program in Gatineau, QC, requiring an active SECRET clearance.
The ideal candidate brings a strong software architecture background, extensive C#/.NET, Blazor, PostgreSQL, Visual Studio expertise, and experience with Azure DevOps within a SAFe-Agile
Qualifications
- A minimum of 12 years of demonstrated experience in 4 of the 7 following criteria.
- Software engineering within a Client/Server Environment or Collaborative Environments.
- Managing, analyzing, designing, modeling, and implementing software systems.
- Demonstrated experience in Firepower, ISR, C4ISR, or Modelling and Simulation software development.
- System life-cycle management for software systems.
- Azure DevOps Mastery: Deep experience managing work items, boards, and pipelines within Azure DevOps (ADO).
- DevOps Methodologies: CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and automated testing strategies.
- C# & .NET Ecosystem: Advanced proficiency in modern C# (.NET 6/8+) for backend services and APIs.
- Blazor: Building interactive web UIs (Server or WebAssembly).
- PostgreSQL: Designing schemas and optimizing performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage, analyze, design, model, and implement software systems and provide development oversight.
- Provide software and application integration, analysis, and evaluation support.
- Recommend software-related system-level solutions for discrepancies and changes to equipment and specifications.
- Liaise with software development and application tech groups to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on software components and interface documentation.
- Prepare planning and procurement support documentation for software and applications.
- Conduct design, technical, and management reviews to monitor progress and potential problems.
- Conduct and/or witness software integration testing and evaluation.
- Conduct technical definition studies and options analysis.
- Manage all development and maintenance support activities in SAFe-Agile model practices.
