Job summary

TMX Group in Toronto is seeking a Senior Application Developer to design, develop, test and support mission-critical market data applications. The role emphasizes high-performance C++ code, real-time data feeds, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Candidates should have a university degree in computer science and at least five years of hands-on experience across C++, Java, C, SQL and Perl, with OO analysis. A strong ability to work independently and within a team is required.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience in real-time transaction and batch processing concepts.
• Minimum five years in UNIX, Linux, C++, Java, C, SQL, Perl and OO analysis.
• Ability to work independently and with peers.
• Knowledge of TMX real-time market data feeds is an asset.
• Securities industry knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and design components, subsystems and applications.
• Develop high-performance, reusable code with stable interfaces.
• Lead design/code reviews and provide feedback on quality and performance.
• Provide 3rd level application support with rotation and 24/7 pager duties.
• Create operational/documentation for users and technical support staff.
• Support delivery of tasks, estimates and schedules across teams.
