As a senior buyer in the Major Projects team at Pomerleau, you will report to the Strategic Procurement Manager. You will be responsible for purchasing based on site requirements, working on large-scale construction projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion.

What You Will Do

• Manage purchase requests from superintendents and regional coordinators
• Purchase site materials and equipment
• Create and approve purchase orders
• Search for innovative products and new suppliers for the respective province
• Track back orders, reconcile delivery notes with purchase orders and invoices
• Request quotes from suppliers
• Coordinate transportation of materials when required
• Collaborate with procurement specialists to optimize corporate agreements
• Combine product purchases to maximize leverage and create annual agreements
• Negotiate credit and payment terms with local suppliers
• Follow established ISO procedures

This role could be for you if you have

• More than 5 years of experience in procurement for construction sites
• Good knowledge of the building materials industry (asset)
• College degree in procurement or logistics
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Bilingual (French) is an asset
• Excellent communication and relationship skills
• Autonomy and ability to manage emergencies
• Strong problem-solving skills
