Senior Buyer - Manufacturing & Supply Chain Leadership
Brantford, ON | On-site, Full-Time
Are you a strategic, hands-on Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading North American manufacturer known for engineering excellence and 80+ years of innovation in the commercial refrigeration space. With cutting-edge facilities, strong market presence, and a deep commitment to quality, they are looking for a
Senior Buyer to strengthen their supply chain operations and drive procurement performance.
Why This Opportunity?
This isn’t your typical purchasing job. You’ll take the lead on vendor management, strategic sourcing, and procurement planning for high-performance manufacturing operations. You'll manage a mix of operational tasks and leadership responsibilities—from overseeing material flow and resolving part shortages to mentoring a small team and helping drive cost-reduction initiatives. If you’re ready to step into a role where your experience will make an immediate impact, this is the place.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide leadership to the purchasing team, assigning daily tasks and ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Coordinate full-cycle purchasing processes including PO issuance, change orders, MRP management, and shortage resolution.
- Collaborate with engineering and suppliers to solve part shortages, evaluate substitutions, and manage deviations.
- Source vendors, obtain competitive quotes, and maintain up-to-date records on pricing, lead times, and order status.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage reorder points and EOQs, and help phase out obsolete stock.
- Oversee the receiving and tracking of purchased goods, kanban systems, blanket orders, and returns (DMRs).
- Support intercompany purchasing and logistics, ensuring timely delivery and optimal transportation routes.
- Track cost-savings, supplier performance, and contribute to continuous improvement of supply chain systems.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, or a related field.
- Supply chain certification or active progress toward one (e.g. CSCMP, SCMP).
- Strong command of MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach and excellent communication skills.
- Membership in a professional supply chain association is an asset.
What’s In It for You:
- Join a well-established, privately owned company with long-term stability.
- Work in a 15,000 sq. ft. UL-certified R&D facility with cutting-edge equipment.
- Competitive salary and a comprehensive, company-paid benefits package.
- Registered DC pension program and professional development reimbursement.
- Collaborative, innovation-driven culture with opportunities for growth.
