- Incorporated Business Rate: $85-95 per hour.
- 12‑month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
- Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
- Hybrid: 3 days per week in the Toronto office.
Responsibilities:
- Business analysis: Partner with investment managers and front‑office teams to understand business needs, data requirements, and system workflows.
- Data analysis: Run SQL queries, perform data validation, reconcile data between systems, and produce actionable insights.
- Front‑office data support: Analyze data from Aladdin, Bloomberg, and other trading/accounting platforms to support investment operations.
- Cross‑system investigations: Use SQL/Python to compare datasets across platforms, identify discrepancies, and interpret meaning from a trading or portfolio‑management perspective.
- Stakeholder communication: Translate technical findings into clear business language for investment managers and senior stakeholders.
- Project & Initiative support: Contribute to ongoing data initiatives within the Investments Data Team, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with front‑office needs.
What you will need to succeed:
Required qualifications
- 6-10+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or investment data roles.
- Strong understanding of investment management, including trading workflows, portfolio data, and front‑office concepts.
- Hands‑on experience with Aladdin or Bloomberg from a data perspective.
- Ability to write and run SQL queries and perform data investigations.
- Experience with Python for scripting or data comparison tasks.
- Background in asset management, pension funds, or similar financial institutions.
- Ability to understand and communicate using investment management terminology.
Preferred qualifications
- CFA Level I, II, III, or an equivalent investment-domain credential.
- Experience working directly in a competitor organization within the investment‑management ecosystem.
- Exposure to Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Ability to translate technical findings into clear business language.
- Ability to understand business needs, data requirements, and system workflows.
- Ability to interpret data meaningfully from a trading, front‑office, or portfolio‑management perspective.
