Job summary

CanDeal Group is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to translate complex business needs into functional specifications for new and existing applications. You will lead requirements sessions, author detailed documentation, and ensure alignment across stakeholders in the Canadian capital markets domain.

The role focuses on fixed income products, trading systems, and data integration, with emphasis on SDLC/Agile methodologies and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary degree.
• 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets.
• Expert knowledge in Canadian Fixed Income - Bonds and Money Markets.
• Experience with electronic trading systems for fixed income.
• Knowledge of Canadian Fixed Income Derivatives and Futures - Swaps, CGB futures.
• Experience with UI design and wireframe modeling.
• Understanding of API design, data flows, and system integration.
• SQL or database querying experience is a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, PPT, Outlook, Excel, Visio).
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
• Advanced SDLC and Agile practices for requirements analysis and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct business analysis for initiatives across business lines.
• Develop/Maintain subject matter expertise in applications and business needs.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of applications and their interdependencies.
• Facilitate gap analysis between current and desired state.
• Author Business Requirements, Use Cases and Functional/Non-Functional specs.
• Lead requirements sessions with stakeholders to elicit, document, and sign-off.
