Senior Business Analyst (AML Regulatory Reporting & Data Analysis)
About the Role
Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to support strategic regulatory reporting and AML transformation initiatives. This role will focus on regulatory reporting programs including Large Cash Transaction Reporting (LCTR), Currency Transaction Reporting (CTR), Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR), and data-focused initiatives involving data lineage, source-to-target mapping, data quality, and data modeling.
The successful candidate will serve as a senior member of the project team, driving requirements activities, collaborating with business and technology stakeholders, and providing leadership and governance to other Business Analysts across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities on large-scale regulatory, compliance, and strategic programs.
- Gather, document, validate, and obtain sign-off for business and functional requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions across business and technology teams.
- Lead and mentor Business Analysts to ensure consistency in requirements management and documentation standards.
- Develop project delivery approaches and requirements work plans aligned to project milestones.
- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Assess impacts to customers, operations, data, technology, risk, and compliance functions.
- Manage requirements dependencies across multiple projects and workstreams.
- Evaluate change requests and assess impacts to project scope and objectives.
- Identify, document, and manage project risks, assumptions, and issues.
- Support regulatory reporting initiatives and AML compliance programs.
- Perform data analysis activities including:
- Data Mapping
- Source-to-Target Mapping
- Data Quality Assessment
- Data Modeling
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 8-10+ years of Business Analysis experience within Banking or Financial Services.
- Proven experience working on large-scale regulatory, compliance, or transformation projects.
- Strong experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Experience leading requirements workstreams and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
AML & Regulatory Knowledge
