Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives & Technical Solutions, the Senior Business Analyst will join a dynamic and innovative team focused on delivering technology solutions with comprehensive analysis in support of DUA’s information systems and program initiatives. The incumbent will engage with stakeholders to understand current business processes and identify optimal strategies for transitioning these processes, workflows, and data to existing or new systems as well as leading complex system integration projects.
As a core member of the DUA Advancement Services PMO, the Senior Business Analyst will plan, design, and assist in the development and procurement of IT systems, products, solutions, and services. The incumbent will support business decision-making by documenting requirements, analysing existing processes and technologies, conducting environment scans, advising on cost/impact, propose feasible enhancements and/or alternative solutions: assessing existing gaps in business processes and service delivery, and proposing enhancements and/or alternative solutions, and liaising with technical staff and a wide group of stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain IT solutions. The incumbent will be responsible for performing needs analysis, risk assessments and for defining and scoping project requirements.
With in-depth knowledge of information technology resources and services, the Senior Business Analyst will also act as conduit of communication connecting clients with most appropriate IT units and/or cross functional teams to achieve desired results. The incumbent will be responsible for providing orientation and training to end-users and technical staff for new and modified systems, coordinate the release of information related to new services and functionalities, and lead workshops, training sessions, and deliver presentations at professional conferences.
This Senior Business Analyst will collaborate closely with internal technology and business stakeholders to assess new products and project risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies. The incumbent will act as a subject matter expert for advising on adopting Information security controls arising out of the risk assessments performed across a wide range of technologies and ensuring such controls address the ever-evolving threat landscape impacting the usage of such technologies. For new services, the incumbent is responsible for completing service design documentation to ensure alignment, structural and procedural supports, and change management principles to ensure adoption.
The Senior Business Analyst will participate in establishing and strengthening best practices, templates, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for University Advancement and the Advancement Community. In so doing, the incumbent will research best practices within and outside the organization and establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results. The incumbent will champion project governance by ensuring projects go through all the required steps including client communication and signoff, are accurately and fully documented, and ultimately achieve the set-out business objectives.
