Alberta Health Services in Calgary or Edmonton is seeking a Senior IT Analyst to lead technology-enabled business transformation across people, processes and systems. You will apply senior BA techniques to engage stakeholders, map current processes, personas and access, and synthesize requirements across hardware, software and identity and access management.

You are a highly motivated Senior Business Analyst who takes pride in driving technology-enabled business transformation through the right combination of people, processes, and technology. You will apply your senior-level BA experience and techniques to expertly engage stakeholders and map existing processes, personas and access. You will apply strategic thinking and strong data analysis skills and experience in data governance and taxonomy to synthesize requirements across hardware, software and identity and access management. You can manage other technology-enabled initiatives as needed, with strong analytical, process design, planning, communication and facilitation skills. You demonstrate independence and initiative in your work and have experience in working across all levels within an organization including senior executives, managers, front line, corporate and technical staff. This is a temporary position, based out of Calgary or Edmonton.
Leading business analysis activities for large, complex initiatives with a high degree of change and business transformation impact, providing input on technology and business strategy. Owning the business analysis stream, including: Strategic analysis, BA engagement planning, current state elicitation, requirements analysis, documentation and socialization. Assessment of benefits realization. Leading and/or facilitating stakeholder engagement to understand and solve a range of complex problems, recommending best practices and identifying potential gaps. Engaging and managing stakeholder expectations including senior and executive management level. Providing expert support to Project Manager and participating in and/or supporting organizational change management, communication and training activities as required. Managing risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Post-secondary completion in business, information technology or a health-related discipline. Proven equivalent knowledge will be considered. A minimum of five - seven years of work experience in business analysis, including strategic and tactical execution of business analysis processes, tools and techniques. Competency in business analysis should be at a senior level. Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills; ability to conduct group presentations effectively and efficiently including at the executive level. Excellent data analysis skills. Proven expertise in engaging business and IT stakeholders to understand business needs, conduct stakeholder elicitation activities effectively, and adeptly manage requirements analysis, documentation and validation. Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, planning and monitoring own workload. Ability to work in an organization with both direct and dotted-line reporting and peer relationships.
Experience working on infrastructure projects such as Microsoft technology updates, hardware deployments, identity and/or cybersecurity programs. Experience in MS365 Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Teams. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Power BI and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
Experience working on Identity and Access Management projects, that includes role-based and attributed-based access analysis, is preferred. Knowledge and/or experience working within a Digital Health/healthcare organization is preferred. Experience in data governance and taxonomy is an asset.
