Job summary

UST is seeking a Lead II - Data Engineering in Ontario to drive data migration initiatives, leveraging SQL, Salesforce, Snowflake, and Tableau. You will partner with business stakeholders to define migration requirements, map source to target data, and oversee end-to-end movement from legacy systems to target platforms.

The role emphasizes data profiling, cleansing, validation, and clear communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Migration Specialist.
• Strong experience with end-to-end data migration / system conversion projects.
• Excellent requirements elicitation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand processes, data usage, and reporting needs.
• Lead requirements gathering and facilitate discussions between business and tech teams.
• Analyze source and target systems to understand data structures, relationships, dependencies, and constraints.
• Define and document source-to-target mappings, business rules, transformation logic, and migration requirements.
• Identify data quality issues, gaps, anomalies, duplicates, and migration risks and determine remediation approaches.
• Perform data analysis and profiling using SQL and related tools.
• Work closely with Data Engineers/ETL teams supporting migration and transformation activities.
• Support data reconciliation and validation to ensure completeness and accuracy after migration.
• Define business acceptance criteria and support SIT/UAT and post-migration validation.
• Analyze downstream impacts of migrated data for Tableau reporting and analytics.
• Operate within Snowflake, IBM DataStage, and Tableau environment.
• Clearly communicate complex data issues and recommendations to stakeholders.

Role Description

UST is searching for an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst / Data Migration Specialist to support data transformation or migration between Salesforce and surrounding eco system including DataStage, Snowflake, Tableau and any legacy applications. The ideal candidate will have strong business-facing skills combined with hands‑on experience analyzing data, defining migration requirements, and supporting the movement of data from legacy/source systems to target platforms.

What You Need

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Migration Specialist, preferably within large enterprise environments
• Strong experience with end-to-end data migration / system conversion projects
• Excellent requirements elicitation and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of source-to-target mapping, data transformation, data profiling, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation
• Strong SQL and analytical skills
• Experience with Salesforce, Snowflake, IBM DataStage or comparable ETL/data integration platforms and Tableau is a plus
• Deep understanding of reporting and downstream data dependencies
• Ability to identify and articulate data constraints, dependencies, risks, and business impacts
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Financial services/banking experience would be an asset

$104,000-$130,000

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company‑paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company‑paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
