Job summary

EXP is seeking an Intermediate / Senior Bridge Engineer to work on transportation structures across Markham, Brampton, Ottawa, Hamilton or London, ON. The role focuses on new structures, inspection/evaluation of existing structures, and rehabilitation projects within a collaborative, employee-owned firm.

The position requires 4–8 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, and ideally a P.Eng designation. Strong communication and analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of relevant experience.
• P.Eng designation obtained or will be obtained soon.
• Bridge Inspection experience OSIM.
• Knowledge of structural analysis software.
• Familiar with Bentley’s MicroStation.
• Proficient with MS Office software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site inspection, analysis and condition assessment of existing structures.
• Perform construction and life cycle cost estimate.
• Assist with planning and schematic/geometric layout of new structures.
• Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate.
• Prepare plan drawings and details.
• Assist in preparation of construction specifications.
• Perform material quantity take-offs.
• Organize design calculations; and assist with project construction administration including reviews of shop drawings and requests for information.
