Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer in Grande Prairie, AB, Canada. You will lead detailed bridge design and rehabilitation projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction and contract administration.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of bridge design experience, a P.Eng., and deep knowledge of Alberta standards. This role emphasizes client coordination, technical leadership, and effective project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or PE).
• Minimum 10 years of progressive bridge design and/or Project Management experience on Alberta Transportation & Municipal projects.
• Experience with TEC bridge inventory including standard bridges, culverts, and major structures.
• Proven ability to lead detailed design and contract preparation independently and with teams.
• Proficiency with Midas and CSiBridge software.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta bridge standards and policies; CSA S6; AASHTO; AREMA.
• Experience providing construction liaison and acting as Contract Administrator.
• Ability to review and approve technical design reports.
• Strong verbal and written technical communication; ability to coordinate across disciplines.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed design and rehabilitation assignments for transportation bridges across delivery phases.
• Prepare and review structural analysis calculations, models, and documentation.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and work programs.
• Produce and review technical reports, specifications, quantities, and tender docs.
• Perform design reviews for new bridges and rehab projects.
• Provide field investigations, inspections, and rehabilitation services.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform QA on deliverables.
• Coordinate with highway, foundation, environmental, drainage and electrical teams.
• Maintain client relationships through stakeholder coordination and project support.
• Manage project teams, schedules, budgets, and risk management.
• Provide technical oversight to Engineers, Designers, and CAD Drafters.
• Support construction inspection, liaison, and contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with bridge codes and regulatory standards.
