Job summary
LRO Staffing seeks a Senior BLE Firmware Engineer in Ottawa for a 6-month on-site contract. You will own production firmware from design through hardware integration and testing, using Nordic Bluetooth LE tech, nRF Connect SDK, and Zephyr RTOS.
Requires 8+ years in embedded firmware, deep C/C++, ARM Cortex, and substantial BLE experience. You will collaborate across teams to deliver robust IoT firmware for resource-constrained devices.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of embedded firmware/software development experience.
- Advanced Embedded C skills in resource-constrained systems.
- Experience with Nordic nRF52/nRF54 and nRF Connect SDK.
- Strong Bluetooth Low Energy development experience (GAP/GATT).
- Experience developing and optimizing low-power battery-powered devices.
- Hardware integration and debugging on ARM Cortex MCUs.
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded firmware for IoT products.
- Design, develop and maintain production firmware in C/C++.
- Develop firmware for Nordic nRF52/nRF54 using nRF Connect SDK and Zephyr RTOS.
- Enhance BLE functionality including GAP, GATT, advertising, pairing/bonding, and security.
- Perform hardware/firmware integration and debugging with SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO and peripherals.
- Contribute to power optimization and reliable firmware bring-up.
