Job summary

Interaxon Inc. is seeking an Embedded Developer to own firmware for EEG and biosensing wearables. You will lead end-to-end firmware releases, bring up new platforms, and collaborate with app, cloud, QA, and manufacturing teams to ship products.

The role requires strong C, Python, RTOS, BLE design, and experience with biosignal front ends like EEG/PPG. This is a remote-first position with Toronto as HQ; join a small, hands-on team shaping wearable technology.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded firmware in C and scripting in Python.
• Experience with RTOS (ThreadX, Zephyr, etc) or bringing up an unfamiliar vendor SDK.
• Experience owning firmware releases, including versioning and release criteria.
• Ability to design firmware architecture and scalable protocols.
• Experience with BLE protocol design and debugging real-world connections.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware releases end to end — scope, QA, and release notes.
• Maintain and extend STM32 firmware while bringing up new platforms.
• Design and debug BLE protocol, throughput, latency, and connection reliability.
• Integrate Bluetooth audio paths and continuous sensor streaming.
• Handle biosignal acquisition, on-device filtering, and telemetry.
• Configure PMIC, power management, and battery-life considerations.
• Debug field issues using logs, RTT, crashes, and product analytics.
• Support new hardware bring-up for peripherals and sensors.
• Collaborate across teams across time zones and document architecture and specs.
