Senior Technologist - Building Automation Systems

Durell Control Systems Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Senior BAS Technologist with minimum of five years of experience in the Building Automation / Controls industry. We are located in London, Ontario and are the Delta Controls Partner for Southwestern Ontario. Durell Control Systems design, install and service Delta Control Systems; Provide system integration via Delta enteliWEB and Tridium N4 platform as well as Energy Management services.

The successful candidate will respond to customer service calls (on site and remote) as well as performing BAS maintenance services. The Senior Technologist will be expected to review, edit and verify engineered system drawings, programming & web graphics and will also be responsible for thoroughly commissioning BAS for new construction projects as well as existing system retrofits and upgrades.

Specific Duties :

• Exceptional customer service & support.
• Point-to-point and functional commissioning of Delta Building Automation Systems including but not limited to HVAC / R, Card Access and Lighting systems.
• In-depth knowledge of Mechanical equipment and HVAC system operation in buildings; Ability to troubleshoot system issues with mechanical contractors and consulting engineers.
• Detailed technical / service reports.
• Program troubleshooting, debugging and minor revisions.
• Perform BAS software upgrades including flash upgrades of system controllers, client machine and server (Physical and Virtual platforms) software installation and configuration.
• Service current versions of Delta hardware and software, including V3.xx, Orcaview, enteliWEB and enteliVIZ software suites.
• Perform Building Systems integration through BACnet, Tridium, Modbus, or LONworks. Configuration of 3rd party controlled equipment including (but not limited to) Carrier, Trane, York, Munters, Mitsubishi, LG & Daikin.
• Graphical user interface editing and troubleshooting.
• Network / system trouble shooting : RS-485, Ethernet, TCP / IP, UDP / IP & Network layer protocol.
• Remote system login and troubleshooting. Proficiency using all types of VPN and remote session software including Multifactor Authentication.

Requirements :

• Minimum Five years of experience commissioning, programming and servicing Building Automation Systems.
• Have a good understanding of mechanical / HVAC systems.
• Have some knowledge of IT networks.
• Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite or equivalent. Experience with Share Point and AutoCAD is an asset.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Highly Motivated; Positive and professional attitude.
• Valid Ontario Drivers License and current Ontario driving abstract.
