Bitvavo is seeking an experienced software engineer to help design and build cutting-edge services for the financial markets. You will collaborate with engineering leadership to deliver reliable, high-performance systems used by millions of users.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of software development experience, deep knowledge of event-driven microservices, Kafka, Kotlin, and Kubernetes, and a proven ability to shape technology choices.

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with trading products in retail space.
• Expertise in event-driven microservices architecture, particularly with Kafka.
• Strong proficiency JVM languages, preferably Kotlin.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering Manager, Staff Engineer and colleagues across the organisation to craft high quality software used by our customers.
• Dive into technical challenges, building solutions to guarantee peak performance across our systems.
• Actively participate in pivotal decisions on technology stacks and architecture.
• Participate in operational rotations to resolve incidents in our production environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
