Job summary

Bell is seeking a Senior Backend-focused Developer to join the Bell Business Markets team. You will help design, develop, and scale a network automation platform using cloud-native technologies, with a NetDevOps mindset and a strong emphasis on security, reliability, and performance.

You will mentor teammates, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with product and network experts to deliver scalable backend services and integrations in a hybrid Bell work model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in Python with FastAPI and cloud-native microservices.
• Hands-on with OpenShift or Kubernetes in private/public cloud.
• Strong CI/CD practices and automated testing.
• Experience with SQL databases and TypeScript/Vue.js is a plus.
• Experience in structured Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban).
• Solid object-oriented design and SOLID principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend APIs and microservices.
• Bridge software and networking requirements into scalable logic (NetDevOps).
• Contribute to evolving software architecture and ensure security, performance, reliability.
• Promote code quality with unit/integration tests and CI/CD discipline.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and document rationale on Confluence.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and network experts to scale features.
• Mentor teammates and support knowledge transfer via pair programming.
• Identify technical debt and drive sustainable fixes.
