Job summary

Bell is seeking a seasoned Network & Services Architect to drive the strategic vision of our telecommunications infrastructure in Quebec. You will design complex architectures spanning LAN/WAN networks, security solutions, and cloud integrations, translating business goals into robust, highly available designs.

As a trusted advisor, you will lead architecture governance, evaluate new technologies like SD-WAN and cloud services, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to deliver

Qualifications

  • More than 7 years of IT experience in large-scale network, security, or telecom architecture roles.
  • Proven experience developing strategic technology roadmaps and designing geographically distributed enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, data centers).
  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP) and NGFW/WAN technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud integrations (Azure, AWS) and SD-WAN implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Architecture Design for networks, security, and telecom services.
  • Complex Architecture Definition: design high-level and detailed architectures aligned with business goals.
  • Technology Investment Planning: roadmaps, business cases, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Governance and Standards: establish architecture principles, policies and best practices.
  • Technology Innovation and Research: identify emerging opportunities (SD-WAN, cloud, security) and assess value.
  • Advisory and Integration: serve as SME to project teams and leadership.
  • Hybrid and Cloud Integration: ensure seamless integration with IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
  • Technical Validation: assess vendor and internal designs.
  • Procurement Support: contribute to RFPs and vendor evaluations.
  • Governance and Security: design secure architectures and DR strategies.
  • Monitoring Strategy: define proactive monitoring requirements.

Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Network and Services Architect to drive the strategic vision and evolution of our telecommunications infrastructure. Acting as a trusted advisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for designing complex technology architectures spanning LAN/WAN networks, security solutions, and cloud environments. This individual will translate business objectives into robust, highly available, and secure solutions while ensuring seamless integration across our broader technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Architecture Design
  • Complex Architecture Definition: Design and document both high-level and detailed architectures for networks, security, and telecommunications services, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Technology Investment Planning: Develop roadmaps, business cases, and cost-benefit analyses to support technology investment decisions.
  • Governance and Standards: Establish and evolve architecture principles, policies, standards, and best practices for communication infrastructures.
  • Technology Innovation and Research: Lead continuous technology scouting efforts to identify emerging opportunities (e.g., SD-WAN, cloud services, advanced security solutions) and assess their business value.
  • Advisory and Integration
  • Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the primary technical advisor and strategic consultant to project teams, leadership committees, and internal stakeholders.
  • Hybrid and Cloud Integration: Ensure seamless integration and connectivity between new technology infrastructures, existing networks, and cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Technical Validation: Assess and validate architecture proposals developed by external vendors and internal engineering teams.
  • Procurement Support: Contribute to technical specifications, RFP development, and proposal evaluations for the acquisition of technology products and third-party services.
  • Governance and Security
  • Secure Architecture Design: Develop integrated network security architectures, including network segmentation, access control, and external traffic protection, to safeguard corporate information assets.
  • Business Continuity: Assist in developing high-availability strategies and designing robust disaster recovery solutions for critical business services.
  • Monitoring Strategy: Define requirements and approaches for proactive monitoring of technology environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
Critical Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
  • More than 7 years of overall IT experience, including significant experience in large-scale network, security, or telecommunications architecture roles.
  • Proven experience developing strategic technology roadmaps and designing geographically distributed enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, data centers).
Technical Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including:
  • BGP
  • OSPF
  • STP
  • Expertise in advanced firewall technologies and next-generation WAN access solutions such as SD-WAN.
  • Hands-on experience designing hybrid network architectures connected to major public cloud platforms such as:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Equivalent cloud providers
Communication and Leadership
  • Strong ability to develop, write, and present strategic and executive-level documentation, including business cases, opportunity assessments, and architecture proposals.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities to drive change and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
Nice to Have
  • Advanced professional certifications in networking, security, or cloud architecture, such as:
  • CCNP
  • CISSP
  • Cloud Architecture certifications (Azure, AWS, etc.)

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
