Job summary

Bell Canada is seeking a Senior Backend-focused Developer to join the Bell Business Markets team. You will design, develop, and scale our network automation platform using cloud-native technologies, while shaping the future of Bell’s networks with AI integration.

The role emphasizes netdevops thinking, software engineering excellence, and high security, performance, and reliability. You will mentor teammates, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with Product Owners and external experts

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in Python and modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native microservices architecture and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes in private/public clouds.
• Strong background in CI/CD practices and automated testing (TDD/integration).
• Good knowledge of TypeScript and familiarity with Vue.js.
• Experience with SQL databases.
• Experience in structured Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban).
• Solid object-oriented programming and SOLID principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and microservices.
• Bridge NetDevOps: translate network and security requirements into scalable software logic.
• Lead evolution of software architecture and champion software quality.
• Ensure unit/integration tests and zero regression in CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and document rationale on Confluence.
• Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, and external experts to add features and scale network coverage.
• Mentor teammates and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Identify technical debt and drive sustainable fixes.
