Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, deliver, and support Java-based, cloud-native services. You will own features end-to-end, influence technical direction, and raise the bar for code quality, reliability, and operability.

This hands-on role requires mentoring, production support, and collaboration across a distributed AWS environment to ensure high availability and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing backend applications in Java.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot in production environments.
• Experience designing and operating microservice architectures in production.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Java backend services using Spring Boot.
• Own delivery of complex backend features from design through production support.
• Build and evolve event-driven systems using AWS messaging services.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs and internal platform capabilities.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and participate in on-call rotations.
