Job summary

CommIT is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for its Customer Focus Group (CFG), a team that bridges engineering and the product side. You will own backend architecture, design scalable services, and collaborate with globally distributed teams to translate customer needs into product features.

You will work with Node.js/TypeScript, SQL and NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). A strong focus on performance, infrastructure, and customer satisfaction is essential, along with Agile

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development with customer-centric focus.
• Strong background in microservices, API design and design patterns.
• Proficient in Node.js/TypeScript or equivalent backend languages.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases at scale.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with serverless and managed services.
• Proven problem-solving with scalable, high-performance solutions.
• Familiar with Agile practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent collaboration and communication with distributed teams.

CFG members handle development, architecture, product, and direct customer interaction: translating customer needs into the product, building new features, and resolving pressing technical issues. The role needs a strong backend builder who can also take a holistic, product-and-customer view, with a focus on infrastructure, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Must-have skills:

• Backend architecture — microservices, API design, and design patterns (deep understanding)
• Node.js / TypeScript proficiency (or other relevant backend languages)
• SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience scaling systems for high-volume data processing
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their services — serverless computing, managed databases
• 5+ years of backend development, with a strong focus on customer-centric products
• Proven problem-solving with a track record of performant, scalable solutions
• Agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent collaboration and communication with globally distributed teams

Nice-to-have skills:

• Security / AppSec domain familiarity (OX is a security product)
• Customer-facing / pre-sales technical experience
• Experience bridging product and engineering
