Job summary

Innvenza Solutions in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a senior backend engineer to own the backend systems that define how AI interacts with production environments. You will write Node.js and TypeScript, design APIs, and work on MCP-based tools and agent workflows, shaping the boundaries between AI and real systems.

You will join a small senior team, collaborate directly with the founder on technical direction, and ship end-to-end features while prioritizing reliability, testing, and safe

Qualifications

Senior backend engineer with production systems you can point to.
Deep fluency in Node.js and TypeScript.
Ability to define scope without a strict spec.
Experience with MCP, agent workflows or enterprise ERP is a plus.
Comfort with ownership and direct collaboration with leadership.

Responsibilities

Own the backend systems that define how AI interacts with production environments.
Design APIs and MCP-based tools; set control boundaries between AI and production.
Ship features end-to-end and improve reliability, performance, and validation.
