AMA – Alberta Motor Association is seeking a Senior Developer to design, build, and support backend solutions. You’ll focus on cloud-native, serverless apps, guide AI Coding Agents, and collaborate with a high-performing team to deliver secure, scalable software for members and employees.

The role requires 5+ years of development, API integration experience, and a security-forward mindset. Hybrid work model and strong on-call readiness are supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in IT/CS or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with API integration and systems integration.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and OAuth/OIDC concepts.
• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native apps.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development and spec-first workflows.
• Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and support backend solutions for AMA members and employees.
• Lead and participate in Agile/Scrum/SAFe environments with a focus on security.
• Collaborate with product owners and developers to gather requirements and define specs.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, peer reviews, and pair programming.
• Deploy code via automated deployment frameworks and ensure maintainability.
