Abbeal is seeking a Senior Back-end Developer with AWS and Python to join the finance team of a major Canadian bank in Montreal. You will design, deploy and run cloud native applications on AWS, while treating infrastructure as code.

The role requires serverless or hybrid architectures and a strong CI/CD focus. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in similar roles, deep Python backend experience, and hands-on work with AWS services, databases, and container technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in software engineering or related field; at least 5 years in a similar role.
• Proficient in Python backend, Git, CI/CD with Jenkins or GitHub Actions, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS: Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, Aurora, RDS, S3, API Gateway.
• Relational and non-relational databases: PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, MongoDB.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants; AWS Developer Associate certification appreciated.
• Montreal hybrid, 2 days a week in the office; permanent contract with Abbeal.
