Job summary

Randstad Canada seeks a Senior Azure DevOps / AI Platform DevOps Contractor to optimize Azure deployments and production-grade AI workflows. The role emphasizes GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and strong Python scripting, with focus on secure, scalable, and observable platforms.

The candidate will collaborate across security, operations, and enterprise teams, delivering infrastructure as code, automated pipelines, and reliable services in a hybrid Ottawa environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience deploying, managing, and optimizing applications and platforms in Microsoft Azure.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including cluster operations and platform best practices.
• Strong understanding of networking and security in cloud/containerized environments.
• Demonstrated success in designing GitLab CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-scale apps.
• Strong scripting and automation using Python; Bash is desirable.
• Experience integrating solutions with enterprise systems including identity and access management.
• Strong troubleshooting and proactive reliability mindset.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Desirable experience supporting AI/ML or Agentic AI workloads in production.

Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize DevOps practices within an Azure cloud environment with security, scalability, resilience, and reliability.
• Design, build, and maintain robust GitLab CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery and automation.
• Support deployment and operation of containerized workloads using Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
• Contribute to AI/Agentic AI DevOps capabilities for secure, production-grade AI workloads.
• Drive infrastructure provisioning and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Collaborate with development, security, and enterprise teams to troubleshoot live issues and implement improvements.
• Support release planning, deployment scheduling, and operational readiness for cloud-hosted apps.
• Provide guidance based on observability data and platform monitoring insights.
• Ensure solutions align with security, authentication, access control, and governance requirements.
• Stay current with DevOps, Azure, Kubernetes, and AI platform technologies and mentor peers.
