Job summary

BMO is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable AWS-based infrastructure for enterprise workloads in Canada. The role blends hands-on engineering with enablement of development teams to adopt cloud services efficiently. You will implement IaC, optimize hosting platforms, ensure security and governance, and partner with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements while delivering reliable, observable systems.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience in production environments.
• AWS Serverless and Containers expertise mandatory.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and scripting in JS/Node/TS/Python is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AWS cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Review architectures for scalability, security, governance, and cost efficiency.
• Develop reusable IaC modules and templates to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Implement monitoring with CloudWatch and observability services.
• Guide cloud onboarding and enablement for development teams.
