Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Developer (SDET) to lead scalable automation solutions for Dynamics 365 and enterprise integrations. You will design Python-based automation frameworks, build reusable components, and develop Playwright-based UI and API tests in a fully remote role from Canada.

The position requires a current Government of Canada security clearance and experience with Azure services, Dataverse, and CI/CD integrations.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional experience in test automation development.
• Minimum 4 years hands-on Python for automation and software development.
• At least 2 years of Playwright for automated testing.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse backend structures, relationships, and security models.
• Proven API testing, backend automation, data validation, and integration testing in enterprise systems.
• Experience with Azure integration technologies: Service Bus, Logic Apps, and Power Automate.

Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Developer (SDET) to lead the design and development of scalable automation solutions for complex backend systems, with a focus on Dynamics 365 and enterprise integrations. In this role, you will build reusable Python-based automation frameworks and implement robust testing strategies to validate business rules, data integrity, APIs, and distributed system workflows. You will work extensively with Microsoft Dataverse, Playwright, and Azure integration services to ensure reliable data exchange and system performance. Collaborating with technical teams, you will strengthen automation architecture, improve test coverage, and integrate quality assurance into CI/CD pipelines. This fully remote opportunity is suited to a senior engineering professional who combines strong software development skills with deep expertise in test automation. A current Government of Canada security clearance is required.

Accountabilities

• Design and develop scalable, reusable automation frameworks, applying sound architecture principles, design patterns, and practices that support maintainability and performance.
• Build robust Python-based automation components, including frameworks, reusable libraries, API clients, validation engines, and supporting utilities.
• Develop enterprise-grade automated tests using Playwright with Python for both user interface and API testing.
• Validate business rules, data integrity, and system integrations across Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Dataverse environments.
• Work extensively with Dataverse entities, relationships, business rules, and security models to ensure accurate and consistent backend validation.
• Retrieve, correlate, and validate data through OData APIs, including cross-entity relationships and complex data validation scenarios.
• Design and execute API and integration tests across distributed systems, backend services, and interconnected enterprise applications.
• Validate event-driven and asynchronous integration workflows using Azure Service Bus, including queues, topics, and subscriptions.
• Test and support integration processes built with Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate.
• Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps pipelines, enabling reliable test execution, reporting, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
• Establish and promote automation standards, framework design principles, reusable components, and testing best practices across technical teams.
• Identify automation gaps, troubleshoot complex failures, and implement improvements that strengthen test reliability, efficiency, and overall software quality.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience in test automation development.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Python for automation engineering and software development.
• At least 2 years of experience using Playwright for automated testing.
• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse, including backend data structures, business rules, relationships, and security models.
• Proven expertise in API testing, backend automation, data validation, and integration testing across enterprise systems.
• Experience with Azure integration technologies, including Azure Service Bus, Azure Logic Apps, and Power Automate.
• Demonstrated ability to design and build automation frameworks from scratch, with an emphasis on scalability, reusability, maintainability, and performance.
• Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex technical issues and develop reliable automated validation solutions.
• Experience integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps pipelines and supporting CI/CD workflows.
• Mandatory: A current Government of Canada security clearance.
• Nice to have: Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
