Job description

Join Our Dynamic Team at Edison Engineers!

Are you an experienced drafting professional who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality construction documents? Edison Engineers is seeking a Senior AutoCAD Technician to support the restoration and repair of buildings that shape our communities. This position may be based out of any of our four Ontario offices: London, Cambridge, Dundas, or Markham.

About Us

Edison Engineers Inc. specializes in the repair and restoration of existing buildings, with a primary focus on residential structures, including high-rise, mid-rise and low-rise buildings, townhouses, and detached homes. We also support select commercial, retail, municipal, and government projects.

We are committed to producing comprehensive and accurate construction documents that meet our clients' needs, support efficient project delivery, and minimize changes during construction.

Role Overview

You will work closely with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, engineers, and administrative staff to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with Edison Engineers' drafting standards and design philosophy.

As an experienced member of the drafting team, you will be expected to manage your work with limited oversight, identify and resolve drafting issues, and provide guidance and technical support to less-experienced drafting staff when required.

  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and compliance with Edison's drafting standards before submission.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, engineers, and other team members to address design changes and resolve drawing-related issues.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support the development and consistent application of drafting standards, templates, details, and processes.
  • Provide technical guidance, quality review, and support to junior drafting staff when required.
  • Work independently and maintain drafting productivity during periods when senior technical staff may be unavailable.
