Job summary

Legal Aid Ontario is seeking a senior audit professional to plan, execute and lead a broad portfolio of audits from our Toronto office. You will develop criteria to assess processes, controls and accounting records, applying risk-based techniques and ensuring quality working papers that meet professional standards.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients and cross-functional teams, and deliver actionable recommendations to strengthen control environments within the public sector

Qualifications

• Ability to quickly understand business processes and their risk implications.
• Knowledge of public/social service sector policies and authorities.
• Experience applying auditing standards and risk management frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Plans, executes and leads a diverse portfolio of audits.
• Develops audit criteria for processes, controls and records.
• Manages risk-based approach and mentors junior staff.
• Ensures working papers support conclusions and comply with standards.
• Provides recommendations on control strategies and system effectiveness.
• Coordinates with clients and teams to align schedules and deliverables.
