What will you do?

  • Establish the audit scope and objectives to ensure activities are consistent with Reliance ethics, values and strategic objectives.
  • Perform end to end audits including planning, scoping, fieldwork, testing and the delivery of high-quality audit reports both verbal and written.
  • Perform detailed risk and control assessments of areas under audit consideration.
  • Develop and execute audit programs and procedures to effectively address the risks, controls and governance issues identified.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues and provide recommendations which add value.
  • Follow-up with the appropriate team members to ensure audit findings and recommendations are addressed on a timely basis.
  • Communicate the results of work by preparing audit reports to appropriate parties, which may include Executive and Senior management.
  • Conduct/assist in research and analysis of technical and best-practice standards.
  • Work with external consultants on selected assignments.
  • Work on special projects as required.
  • Promote the Internal Audit function within the organization.

What do you bring?

  • University degree/ college diploma in applicable field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of internal audit, internal controls, finance, accounting, IT, operations or other relevant experience.
  • Able to work in both Canada and the United States.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal) allowing clear communication of simple to complex concepts/ideas appropriately tailored to target audiences.
  • Strong organizational, project management and teamwork skills, including ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects.
  • High level of analytical skills facilitating the development of complex audit and the creation of new ideas.
  • Demonstrates great diplomacy and tact. Builds informal/formal network of mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Strong customer service orientation that anticipates and understands customers long and short-term needs.
  • Excellent facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills at various management levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other audit related designations would be considered an asset (i.e CPA).
  • Working knowledge of Canadian/US energy industry
