What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Audit Manager, Non-Financial Risk, Internal Audit (IA), you will gain exposure to RBC businesses and functions and become a leader and subject matter expert on enterprise and operational risk topics. You will evaluate internal controls, risk management practices, and corporate governance within Group Risk Management-GRM, providing insights on behalf of the Non-Financial Risk audit team. You will lead planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements, guiding a team of auditors. Work includes planned audits, ad-hoc investigations, continuous monitoring, and issue resolution. You will utilize data analytics tools to provide assurance and insights, acting as a trusted advisor.

What will you do?
Lead and motivate teams proactively, demonstrating critical thinking and coaching auditors during engagements.
Promote teamwork within IA, build trusting relationships with peers and business partners.
Contribute to team discussions, share experiences, challenge approaches constructively.
Manage internal audits from planning to reporting, ensuring coverage for overall control and risk assessments; execute work, draft and communicate issues, evaluate management action plans, review working papers, and incorporate data analytics for risk coverage.
Identify and assess risks and controls, guide testing, maintain working papers, communicate findings.
Assess internal control effectiveness, risk practices, and governance, discovering insights from data and visualization tools.
Support ongoing monitoring and discussions with business leaders.
Assist the Director in regulatory engagements, including responses, document collection, and inquiries.
Support regulatory reporting such as CAE Reports, Strategy Documents, and Risk Frameworks.
Maintain relationships with stakeholders to maximize engagement value.
Provide feedback on management action plans to address deficiencies and ensure timely implementation.
Stay updated on organizational, regulatory, product, and strategic changes affecting the function.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Experience leading teams and project management skills.
Ability to quickly understand risks of new services/products and develop practical audit procedures; problem-solving under pressure.
Strong knowledge of GRM Operational and Enterprise Risk functions.
Understanding of auditing principles, excellent communication skills, and ability to interact with senior management.
Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., B.Com., B. Math, P.Eng., MSc Data Science) and a strong risk/control mindset.
Nice-to-have
Professional accounting or audit certification.
Experience working on special projects as part of a team.
Experience in GRM.
