  • Licensed to practice law in the Americas (US/Canada).
  • Experience with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms and understanding their expectations.

The Team You'll Work With

You’ll be joining our the company Law team, specifically within the Contracts - North Americas function.


Our Contracts team manages the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for clients – from first review through to execution. You’ll be the direct day-to-day contact for sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients, working alongside fellow lawyers and paralegals. This team delivers high volumes of pre-M&A contract work at speed, supported by AI-backed tools including the company's proprietary platform, Ava.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:


  • Commercially minded and client-focused. You communicate legal advice crisply and concisely, building strong relationships with sophisticated financial services clients.

  • Experienced in transactional law. You have 4+ years of post law school corporate or transactional experience, with a track record of independently negotiating pre-M&A contracts (NDAs, NRLs, joinders, engagement letters).

  • Familiar with financial services. You have experience working with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms and understand their expectations.

  • Law Degree and licensed to practice. You are licensed to practice law in the Americas (US/Canada).

  • Tech-savvy and adaptable. You are comfortable working with and evolving a legal technology suite (e.g. AI tools, HighQ), and an interest in legal tech or AI is a strong plus.

  • A self-starter who owns their work. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize effectively, and are always looking for ways to improve and innovate.


Salary

the company’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:


  • $126,000 - 157,600 CAD in Toronto

We are hiring for multiple levels and locations, so final offers may vary from the amounts listed based on geography, experience and expertise, and other factors.
