Aliant Resources is seeking an experienced IBM i/AS400 developer to support legacy applications and modernization projects for public sector and enterprise clients.

In this upcoming opportunity, you will analyze, maintain, and document RPG, RPGLE and COBOL code, review DB2/400 structures, and assist with data migration and testing. The role emphasizes collaboration with technical architects and business analysts in Canada.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IBM i/AS400 development experience.
• Strong RPG/RPGLE and/or COBOL/COBOL ILE expertise.
• Experience with DB2/400, SQL and CL programming.
• Understanding of batch processing, file handling and legacy integrations.
• Experience with application documentation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and maintain RPG, RPGLE and COBOL applications.
• Document existing programs, business rules and batch processing.
• Review DB2/400 data structures, interfaces and dependencies.
• Support modernization, data migration and regression testing.
• Work with technical architects and business analysts.
