Job summary

Electronic Arts in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Art & Design Career Manager to lead a team of managers and creatives, shaping long-term career progression and department health. You will mentor leaders while leaving day-to-day game deliverable decisions to Art and Design Directors, and you will partner with HR and studio leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in game development, VFX, or creative tech industries.
• 5+ years of direct people leadership experience, managing managers or multi-disciplinary creative organizations of 10 to 20+ creatives.
• Mastery of People Operations: career pathing, goal setting, performance evaluation systems, and executive coaching.
• Change management experience guiding creative teams through tool transitions and AI-assisted workflows with empathy and clear communication.
• Talent acquisition experience for senior creative talent aligned with long-term studio needs.
• High EQ and strategic communication to align priorities and collaborate with HR, Recruiting, and Studio Leadership.

Responsibilities

• Organizational Leadership & Coaching: direct line management, coaching, and career development for Artists and Designers across disciplines.
• Scale Career Frameworks: define, refine, and champion clear career pathways, competency grids, and promotion criteria studio-wide.
• Strategic Workforce Planning: partner with executive leadership on headcount planning, creative team structuring, succession planning, and recruiting strategies.
• Discipline Capability & Knowledge Sharing: organize mentorship programs, cross-project knowledge-sharing, and skill-acquisition initiatives.
• Navigate Workflow & Tool Transformations: collaborate to adopt AI-assisted design workflows with change management and ethical tool integration.
• Promote Psychological Safety & Health: cultivate a high-trust, inclusive studio culture and monitor morale.
