Electronic Arts in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Senior Game Designer to own features end-to-end—from concept through polish—across presentation, broadcast, and core gameplay systems. You will lead a pod of designers, drive the team’s vision, and collaborate closely with Production, Audio, Art, UI/UX, and Engineering.

This role emphasizes AI and automation foundations, rapid prototyping, design reviews, and data-informed decisions to continually raise game quality and player value in NHL

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Game Designer on console/AAA titles.
• Direct experience in personnel management and coaching.
• Proven self-starter with a drive for top-tier quality from pitch to final polish.
• Familiarity with data-driven design methodologies and KPIs.
• Experience in sports game presentation, broadcast styling, or dynamic commentary systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Ownership: Drive the vision for features from inception to completion, with top quality.
• Clear Communication: Produce design docs, pitch decks, and wireframes for cross-functional teams.
• Iterative Design: Prototype and iterate using playtests and feedback to refine gameplay.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and grow a team of designers with daily coaching.
• Design Excellence: Lead design reviews and foster knowledge sharing.
• Evolutionary Design Approach: Apply AI and automation to evolve game features.
• Adaptive Design: Expand to cover core systems, UX, presentation, or modes as needed.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Production, Audio, Art, UI/UX, and Engineering.
• Data-Informed Vision: Use real-world broadcasts and trends to inform creative direction.
