We arecurrently seeking a Senior Technologist to join our Toronto Studio to work onone of the most prominent federally owned projects.

Job Summary

The Senior Architectural Technologist is a senior technicalleader who develops and coordinates detailed design and constructiondocumentation for complex architectural projects. This role engages directlywith clients, consultants, and authorities, supporting the full lifecycle of aproject and contributing to the technical leadership of the studio.

Key Responsibilities

Design + Documentation

  • Leadthe development of detailed construction and permit documents.
  • Translatedesign concepts into comprehensive design development and contractdocumentation.
  • Conductadvanced technical research and lead detailing development across projectphases.
  • Reviewand ensure compliance with building codes, bylaws, and QA/QC standards.

Project Support + Coordination

  • Manageproject execution from start to finish, including planning, scheduling,budgeting, scope definition, resourcing, and profitability.
  • Establishand adhere to office expectations for financial performance, staffingefficiency, and project milestones.
  • Leadregular internal project meetings and communicate status updates toOperations and the Partner-in-Charge, at a minimum monthly.
  • Coordinateand oversee project activities, ensuring alignment with office ProjectDelivery processes, filing systems, and documentation standards.
  • Provideproject status updates to the Partner in Charge or Project Manager.
  • Coordinatewith subconsultants and lead multidisciplinary coordination efforts.
  • Liaisewith clients, municipal officials, and regulatory agencies.
  • Supporttendering processes, including bid package preparation.
  • Attendsite meetings and perform shop drawing reviews and contract administrationduties.
  • Ensureall work aligns with the firm’s Project Delivery standards, includingproper use of filing systems, adherence to architectural procedures, andcompliance with drawing and documentation protocols.

  • Mentorjunior and intermediate staff and contribute to a collaborative studioenvironment.
  • Promotehigh standards of professionalism, accountability, and quality.
  • Leadby example in aligning with the firm’s project delivery practices,standards, and values.
  • Activelycontributes to the technical growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Ableto work in a collaborative, in-office environment (100% in-office presencerequired to support direct team engagement and effective cross-functionalcoordination).

Qualifications

  • ArchitecturalTechnologist Diploma or related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in an architectural office.
  • Proficientin Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with Revizto, Bluebeam, SketchUp, andNavisworks is an asset.
  • Strongknowledge of construction systems, detailing, and code compliance.
  • Effectivecommunication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Abilityto coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project deliverygoals.
