Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced Specifications Writer to join our Atlantic Canada Buildings team. You will develop project manuals and technical specs, coordinate with drawings, and help teams select products and substitutions. You will mentor others and stay current with new codes and standards.

You will engage with project teams, maintain spec libraries, and support design delivery across Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial, and Public Works sectors.

Qualifications

• CCS certification preferred; CDT asset
• Familiarity with MasterFormat, UniFormat, and related guides
• Knowledge of Chorus, MasterSpec; BSD SpecLink familiarity a plus
• Familiarity with Contract Documents, Contract for Construction
• Architectural registration preferred

Responsibilities

• Produce project manuals containing procurement, contracting, general and technical specifications
• Prepare project manuals aligned with project requirements
• Draft design criteria using UniFormat and MasterFormat
• Create outlines and full-length specifications with MasterSpec
• Coordinate specifications with drawings and project team
• Maintain and expand specifier's digital library
• Train, mentor, and support project teams on specifications
• Stay current with new products, systems, and codes
