The opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Solution Architecture, the Senior Solution Architect will work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, cross-functional and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable, flexible and secure IT solutions that efficiently use the wide range of software and tools available internally as well as take advantage of the opportunities offered by new technologies on the market. They will act as an advisor to the business regarding new technologies and will take a key role in technology selection processes. They will help develop further the IT analysts and development team by bringing awareness about the enhancements to existing software and trending technologies.

The role

1. Collaborate with business users and IT internal teams to understand business requirements and objectives.
2. Prepare and present architectural designs, proposals, and technical documentation for new systems or enhancements to existing systems to various stakeholders. Clearly articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
3. Assess risks, costs vs benefits and impact of proposed solutions on our enterprise management systems.
4. Review change requests created by Business analysts to ensure the proposed solutions efficiently use existing Systems capabilities, are aligned with the Business overall software deployment strategy and integrate harmoniously with the existing functionalities.
5. Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with solution architecture. Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
6. Lead selection process for new software and equipment that will interact directly or indirectly with the Enterprise application.
7. Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, trends and existing application's updates. Recommend adoption of new technologies that could enhance productivity and efficiency.
8. Document design specifications, deployment instructions, and other system-related information.
9. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and analyst teams throughout the project lifecycle.
10. Develop software architecture governance structure, standards and policies based on business and IT strategies in collaboration with the IT teams.

The Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum 10 years ERP experience with JDE EnterpriseOne (JD Edwards World and other ERPs is an asset)
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to think strategically and propose innovative solutions.
4. In-depth knowledge of enterprise systems, software development, and IT infrastructure.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (French and Spanish are an asset)
6. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
7. Project management skills are an asset
8. Able to travel worldwide 10% of the time
