Job summary

TD is seeking an Applied Machine Learning Scientist II in Toronto to join the Wealth AI/ML Practice, focusing on Generative AI and agentic capabilities. You will develop, deploy, and monitor ML models for customer segmentation, pricing, and lifetime value while collaborating across business lines to define success metrics and ensure regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience applying machine learning to real-world business problems.
• Proficiency in Python and key ML libraries.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data, feature engineering, and model interpretability techniques.
• Hands-on experience with model deployment and monitoring in a production environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering results in cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable and effective when interacting with wide range of business partners and stakeholders.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong internal relationships with several stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex/technical terms and concepts into easy-to-understand business language.
• Motivated to constantly strive to find innovative ways to enhance processes and analytical solutions.
• Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain ML models for use cases such as customer segmentation, acquisition, pricing and lifetime value
• Translate business problems into analytical frameworks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define success metrics and solution approaches
• Conduct rigorous model evaluation, A/B testing, and monitoring to ensure model performance, fairness, and stability in production
• Communicate complex technical results to non-technical stakeholders and provide actionable insights
• Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.
• Keep current on emerging trends and developments, and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques.
• Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally
