Overview

Senior Application Engineer – Smart Buildings & HVAC. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect - Smart Buildings & HVAC to drive growth in the In-Room Solutions category within our Digital Buildings business. This portfolio includes wired and wireless sensors, HMIs, thermostats, and zone controllers, key components of Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Building Operation system. As a Senior Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in expanding this offer category and translating market requirements into product features. You will be part of a global Offer Management team with presence across North America and Europe, supporting commercial teams worldwide. Collaboration will be key; you’ll work closely with Offer Management, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams to meet the needs of a fast-evolving market.

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Salary: $80.00-$100.00 (range indicated in listing)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Offer Management, Engineering, and Quality teams to shape next-generation room-level HVAC solutions, leveraging deep technical expertise.
• Provide hands-on support to regional and commercial teams by delivering technical insights that help secure opportunities and grow the offer category. Facilitate coaching and training sessions to ensure accurate solution positioning.
• Represent customer and market needs by sharing insights, competitive assessments, and technical requirements to guide product development.
• Translate market expectations into product and feature specifications in partnership with Offer Managers. Contribute to portfolio strategy and act as a direct link to engineering for new feature requests.
• Engage with key OEM partners to identify opportunities for tailored solutions, provide technical input, and support solution scoping for specialized go-to-market strategies.
• Participate in field trials of new solutions, working directly with partners and customers to validate performance.
• Support portfolio optimization activities for in-room solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Extensive technical expertise in HVAC controls, ideally with experience in commissioning and integration.
• Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and related devices.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Previous experience in commercial roles such as sales, technical selling, or sales support.
• Ability to communicate technical requirements, features, and benefits effectively and influence stakeholders in a collaborative, global environment.
