SUMMARY

The Senior Application Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications, integration and API solutions that enable secure, scalable, and efficient information exchange across BCFSA systems. This role provides senior technical expertise in modern application development, cloud-native technologies, and integration architecture, supporting strategic digital initiatives and business transformation projects. The position collaborates closely with business stakeholders, architects, and technology teams to deliver maintainable, secure, and high-performing software solutions that align with organizational objectives and technology standards.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade API services using C# and .NET Core.
  • Drive API-first design and development practices to support scalable and reusable enterprise integrations.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, evaluate options, and implement technical solutions that meet organizational needs.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices following modern integration, security, and performance standards.
  • Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and SOLID principles to deliver maintainable solutions.
  • Support application modernization initiatives, including migration from .NET Framework to modern .NET Core platforms and architectures.
  • Build and optimize cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
  • Design and implement solutions aligned with Zero Trust security principles.
  • Develop modern web application components, using Blazor where appropriate.
  • Implement automated testing, code quality controls, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions to ensure consistency with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex application and integration issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and development standards.
  • Support integrations with enterprise platforms, including CRM, data, and line-of-business systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, standards, and methodologies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in software development, solution design, and application integration.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience developing applications using C#, .NET Core, modern .NET frameworks, and RESTful APIs.
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade APIs, integration services, and microservices in complex technology environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing cloud-native applications and services using Microsoft Azure, including technologies such as App Services, Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights, Entra ID, and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience designing and implementing API-first architectures, enterprise integration solutions, and secure application development practices.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), SOLID principles, Clean Architecture, design patterns, and service-oriented or event-driven architectures.
  • Experience modernizing and migrating applications from .NET Framework to current .NET platforms.
  • Experience implementing automated testing, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices using tools such as Git and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications, including CRM, data management, and other business systems.
  • Experience working within large, complex organizations with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and enterprise governance requirements.
  • Experience with Blazor and modern web application development technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform integrations is considered an asset.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
