Overview Of The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Architect to lead the Healthcare projects to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing enterprise system architectures that align with industry best practices while considering organizational needs and constraints. This role involves strategic planning, collaboration with senior leadership, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

This is an open opportunity for both full-time salaried employees and independent contractors.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:

  • Develop and maintain the technical architecture for enterprise systems within a utility organization.
  • Create detailed design documents and architecture blueprints that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Recommend technology investments and system upgrades to optimize business performance.
  • Ensure architectural solutions align with business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align technical strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to deliver integrated and scalable solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and propose innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks that support long-term strategic goals.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and roadmaps to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies in collaboration with the Business Architect to assess their impact and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Ensure all technical solutions adhere to industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to address potential challenges.

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect in enterprise environments.
  • More than ten years of experience in Information Management / Information Technology.
  • More than ten years as a Senior Programmer or an Analyst role.
  • Experience working in the public sector, utility organizations or similar industries is an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • A university degree in Computer Science or similar discipline is preferred, however, an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience can also be considered.

Good To Have

  • Demonstrated experience working with Provincial Health Care and Electronic Health Records applications in Canada.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, documenting, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions to meet the business requirements.
  • Experience working with the Rhapsody Integration engines.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Nextgate/Rhapsody Provider Index
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated experience with JAVA, Java Script.
  • Demonstrated experience with EMPI (e.g. Initiate and Infosphere).
  • Experience with Oracle.
