Job summary

General Motors of Canada is seeking an Android Software Developer – Infotainment OnStar in the Digital Vehicle Experience group. You will design, implement and test Infotainment software across GM vehicles, enabling connected in-vehicle apps and a best-in-class user experience.

You will work in a hybrid model reporting to Markham three days a week, collaborating across Agile teams and mentoring junior engineers while contributing to GM's ZERO vision for crashes, emissions, and congestion.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience programming in Kotlin, Java or C++.
• 3+ years building mobile/ automotive apps (Android).
• Strong OO design, data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with large codebases and legacy code maintenance.
• Android UI development with Jetpack Compose and Figma collaboration.
• Experience with Android architecture patterns and test frameworks.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop in-vehicle infotainment applications for GM Infotainment systems.
• Own the SDV OnStar Calling and Turn-by-Turn domain lifecycle from requirements to maintenance.
• Collaborate in Agile teams, review architecture, design, code and tests.
• Produce clear technical documentation aligned with GM processes.
• Mentor junior staff and drive design decisions autonomously when needed.
