Cognizant in Canada is seeking a Senior Android Developer to design, develop, and enhance native Android apps, delivering exceptional UX and business outcomes. You will collaborate with product, design, architecture, backend teams to deliver scalable mobile solutions.

The role requires 6+ years' experience, strong Kotlin and Android Jetpack expertise, and a hands-on approach to architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture).

Formación

• 6+ years of experience designing and developing native Android mobile applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, Android SDK, Android Studio, and modern Android development practices.
• Proven experience implementing Android architecture patterns, including MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Android Jetpack libraries.
• Experience designing scalable navigation, data flow, state management, and reusable components.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, backend integrations, and secure mobile development.
• Experience optimizing performance across multiple devices and OS versions.
• Debugging, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex production issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration in Agile teams.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks to deliver reliable, scalable, and user-centric mobile solutions.
• Implement clean, modular, and maintainable application architectures leveraging Android Jetpack components and industry-standard design patterns.
• Build intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces that provide seamless customer experiences across a wide range of Android devices.
• Integrate Android platform capabilities, SDK features, backend APIs, and device services while ensuring secure and efficient data exchange.
• Optimize application performance, memory utilization, and responsiveness through profiling, monitoring, and continuous performance tuning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid development environment to translate business requirements and product concepts into high-quality mobile features.
• Conduct code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards and processes.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex production issues to improve application stability, reliability, and overall user satisfaction.
