Job summary

Mérieux NutriSciences - North America invites applications for a Research Chemist in Mississauga, Ontario. The role focuses on conducting chemical and analytical testing of food products to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will develop and validate analytical methods and mentor junior staff in analytical testing procedures. The position requires expertise in chromatography, spectroscopy, and instrumental techniques with exposure to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of chemistry to perform analyses, obtain correct results and interpret data.
• Strong proficiency in chromatography, spectroscopy, and other instrumental techniques (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, FTIR, ICP-MS).
• Familiarity with food industry regulations (FDA, USDA, FSMA).
• Experience performing method validation, statistical data analysis, and experimental design.
• Adherence to GLP, GMP and ISO 17025 standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical and analytical testing on food products, ingredients, and formulations to ensure quality and safety.
• Lead study design for verification and validation of new chemistry methods.
• Mentor junior chemists in analytical testing procedures and data reporting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and coordinate equipment installations.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and operations for product development and process improvements.
