We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Wealth Data Foundations to join our growing team of data specialist and help build scalable, high quality data assets that serve as the foundation for wealth reporting, analytics, business intelligence and machine learning. You'll be part of a fast-paced, cloud first data team building the foundations of wealth advanced analytics ecosystem. This is a hands on-role with room to grow technically and professionally.

The role is an ideal opportunity for recent graduates with some work experience in the field - who is eager to work hands -on with data in a cloud native environment (AWS).

You'll play a key role in transforming complex datasets into trusted, reusable data assets that power decision-making. Consults on analytical solutions to understand, analyze, and synthesize requirements, goals and objectives relative to data and business intelligence needs and to enable high-quality, fact-based business decisions to drive better business outcomes. Provides advice on the configuration, functionality, applicability, and usability of data management, data analytics, and data visualization technology solutions. Supports the development of the strategy and roadmap for data quality and data analytics, data modeling, reporting, business intelligence, and the design and development of sophisticated decision support tools.

Understands and articulates the business case of business questions and the estimated value being delivered. Designs dashboards and analyses to be performed, and appropriate visualization and analytics tools to use. Identifies trends and patterns to address identified business questions and provide insights through reporting and data visualization techniques. Works with other data and analytics professionals to optimize, refine, automate and scale analysis into repeatable analytics solutions and decision support tools.

  • Design, develop, and maintain foundational datasets that support wealth BI, reporting, analytics and machine learning.
  • Build data pipelines and transformation logic using SQL and AWS tools(e.g, Glue, S3)
  • Translate raw data into well structured, documented, and reusable data products
  • Support data quality initiatives by profiling and validating data across systems.
  • Work closely with business analyst, data scientists, technology and BI/reporting teams to align datasets with key use cases
  • Participate in data governance practices by contributing to metadata, data lineage, and definitions
  • Leverage SAS to support legacy analytics processes where needed.
  • Works with different teams, management and stakeholders to enhance the usability and aesthetic appeal of data analytics solutions deployed in the organization.
  • Ensure implementation of CDAO's data strategy
  • Translates business needs to technical specifications and evaluates existing data visualization systems in order to improve them.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Designs, develops, and implements innovative analytical solutions.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide subject matter insights and recommendations.
  • Structures and assembles data into multi-dimensions with various granularities (e.g., demographics, customers, products, transactions).
  • Monitors and tracks tool performance, user acceptance testing, and addresses any issues.
  • Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
  • Designs, develops, and implements innovative analytical solutions.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Supports development and execution of strategic analytics & reporting initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyzes data and information to provide subject-matter insights and recommendations.
  • Develops tools and delivers training programs for use of reporting tools and self-serve analytics by non-analytical end users; may include delivery of training to audiences.
  • Documents and maintain operational procedures and processes relating to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver on business objectives.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
