nder the supervision of the AVP, Cash and Liquidity Management, the Senior Analyst’s main challenge is to ensure that the Bank is able to meet its regulatory liquidity and cash obligations at all times.
The incumbent is responsible for the evolution of management tools and for providing the information required for decision-making in liquidity, cash and collateral management activities. The incumbent also participates in various analyses, transactions and special projects in collaboration with the team and direct supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Monitors the Bank’s liquidity level daily and explains changes.
- Participates in establishing the Bank’s financing plan with the immediate supervisor.
- Produces weekly and monthly management reports for the Cash and Liquidity Management and ALCO committees.
- Tracks performance indicators for cash, financing and cash management activities.
- Contributes to the automation and development of the reports and tools used to manage interest-rate and liquidity risk. Maintains relevant documentation on processes and activities.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current standards and legislation, as well as industry practices. The Senior Analyst stays in tune with market trends.
- Contributes to various projects and mandates that may have a significant impact on the Bank’s cash and liquidity management.
- Understands the Bank’s daily cash position, assesses the impact of various transactions on the real-time cash position and collateral and the effect on the payment (LYNX, ACSS) and settlement (CDS, CLS) systems.
- Analyzes and participates in investment and financing decision-making to maximize return or reduce costs.
- Analyzes the Bank’s primary liquidity portfolios in accordance with risk limits and Management Policy. Participates in meeting budget requirements while maintaining a portfolio of high-quality liquid assets.
- Participates as required on internal and external committees or activities and represents the Bank with various government agencies or the stakeholders of other Canadian banks.
- Produces and maintains technical documentation (operating procedures, user guides, training manuals, etc.) and ensures compliance.
Qualifications
- University training in an appropriate field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position
- Good knowledge of treasury and trading room operations
- Bilingual written and spoken (French and English)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel and Access)
- Ability to work in an environment with multiple priorities
- Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
